Picture this… Boarding a 34’ long Coral Island Power Catamaran to travel 3 miles from land to the 3rd largest reef in the world. You look off into the distance only to see pristine, crystal clear water. Where are you? Australia? The Indian Ocean? No… you are in the Florida Keys. But unbeknownst to them, the Captain will remain in control over the catamaran. When you arrive at the reef and dive into the water, you’ll be flabbergasted at the sights you see. Every resident in the reef has a role to play in the diverse ecosystem. From lush meadows that support a great deal of marine life to the small hills of the spur-and-grove reef, you will witness a profusion of mutton and yellow tail snapper, nurse sharks, eagle rays, lobster, sea turtles and Bermuda blue angelfish, just to name a few.
If you elect to experience the sunset cruise (which is highly recommended) complimentary champagne, crackers and sliced meat and cheese will be waiting for you. Then head out to the “hump” for the optimal spot on the water to view and admire the classic Florida Keys sunset. With the historic 7-mile bridge in your sights, it is impossible to snap a bad photo. Once the picturesque sunset fades onto the horizon, you will sail back to the island. The ride back is always a great time with first mates Jena and Kevin! From comparing beautiful and scenic shots to chatting about home, you may have left the dock with a few strangers, but by the end of the trip you will have made lifelong friends.
